Dessert Monster was started in July 2019 by Mr Rick Koh and his wife, Mdm Kristel Gan. Who would have guessed that Mr Koh used to be in the fashion and merchandising industry for 40 years before this venture! Being an absolute dessert lover, Mr Koh has been passionate about all things desserts. His priority when he travels abroad would be to explore and taste local sweet treats.

As he approached his retirement years, he felt he had one unfulfilled dream — to have a dessert shop of his own so he can share his passion with everyone. Mr Koh shared that initially his family members were a little apprehensive about this decision due to the long working hours it entails. However, they decided to give him their utmost support since this was his lifelong dream. His wife, otherwise known as his ‘boss’ in Mr Koh’s words, also left her job in the fashion industry to help him out. They wanted to bring something new to the hawker scene so they decided to go with a very cutesy stall front.

Dessert Monster offers so many choices that it was really tough to decide what to get. Mr Koh recommended the Monster Treasure ($3.50), and so Monster Treasure it was!
