Don’t break the bank for oysters
Low in calories and fat, as well as being a good source of protein, an oyster feast is one we’ll always welcome. Plus, oysters don’t need to come with a hefty price tag. We’ve found nine places offering fresh oysters for $2 or less so you can devour these treasures of the sea without worrying about going broke.
After returning from a vacation to Hama Hama Oyster Saloon in the States, the founders of Humpback started this Seattle-style restaurant that offers Hama Hama’s oysters for $7++. They’ve also got oysters from other regions, and you can enjoy all their oysters for $3++ from 4pm to 7pm from Monday to Friday, and 12pm to 7pm on the weekends. Coupled with cheap oysters, there is also happy hour for cocktails ($15++), wines ($13++/glass) and draught beer ($13++/glass).

Nestled along a foodie alley in Funan Mall is The Oyster Bank, an oyster bar that has a simple goal of offering quality oysters without breaking the bank. Oysters start at $2 apiece during happy hour from 5pm to 8pm on weekdays, and 3pm to 6pm on weekends. The one condition to get this deal is that you must order one alcoholic drink per half dozen oysters, but that should be no difficult feat. Outside of happy hour, prices start at $3.90, apiece and get cheaper the more you order, be it six or 12 pieces. There are also flavours to pick from, including the Bloody Mary (from $4.25/piece), and baked Mentaiko (from $4.50/piece) oysters.
